Your cash account is a central brokerage account in the United States. Its primary purpose is the purchase, sale, and custody of investment products. The principal operations that can be performed with a cash account are:
Account statements are issued monthly only when there has been account activity; otherwise, they are delivered quarterly with all account activities, operations details, securities positions, updated portfolio assessment, and available balances. The account statements are delivered by courier.
Once your cash account has been established, it can be converted into a margin account.2
